EXT.STREET.NIGHT
The street is deserted and dark the rain is pouring,the street looks miserable. A dark figure stands under at the corner of the road illuminated only by the light of a single lamp post. He stares off into the distance for a moment then silently crosses the road then moves towards a girl. We see two hands in leather gloves wrap around her neck.
(girl tries to scream)
 
EXT.THICKWOOD.NIGHT
The dark figure is then in a thick wood standing by a deep body length hole he dumps an object wrapped up and taped in a bin liner into it.





 INT.FRONTROOM.DAY
Suzy, in her mid 20's, tall, brunette and athletic is in her home drinking coffee while watching the news she sits down stiffly and turns the volume up, 

tv (vo) woman's: 

"Maddison Presmore has been missing for 2 weeks, detectives think her disappearance is linked to the serial killings done previous this month"

the main headline is about a local serial killer she turns of the t.v abruptly closes her eyes and massages her head.


INT.OFFICE.DAY.
We see a file for the serial killer case that was on the news previously on suzys desk then we see a flustered Juliana 40 year old, blonde woman walk in flustered and pester suzy to do a better job finding her daughters killer

Juliana: 

"C'mon detective theres GOT to be something you can do!"

 Suzy:

"Listen Mrs.Presley you know i wish i could, but i'm under so much pressure right now please just let me do my job"

Julian:

(tears up) "i'm just so worried"

Suzy:

"i know, i know well find her" 

EXT.CARPARK.NIGHT

 Just as Suzy goes to usher out Juliana the phone rings suzy goes to answer it the phone call gives them about an anonomous clue at a car park.

Juliana and Suzy arrive at the car park shadow a go along the wall and scurrying noises are heard.

Suzy:

"Dont worry its nothing,listen you stay here ill go investigate"

Juliana:

"NO! don't leave me!"

Suzy:

"Don't worry i'll be back" 

 EXT.CAR PARK/CAR(intercut).NIGHT 

Suzy reassures Juliana then goes off to investigate leaving Juliana on her own. The mysterious figure from the start emerges attacks and kills Juliana (Juliana screams) then runs off. The figure gets into a car then pulls off her mask revealing her self to be Suzy.

One of the other things that we would like to include in our documentary for primary research is getting a small group of people and letting them have an open discussion about some of the issues raised by our documentary.

Wed like to conduct an experiment to prove some of our points myself, Heritier and Waqas will go a whole 3 days without any social networking at all everyday we will do either a report on blogger or a recording and at the end we will see how each of our social statuses have changed and do an evaluation.

District 9 camera angles and shots.

Establishing shot it shows a long road in south africa with the giant space ship looming in the murky sky you can see the deserted streets and the slums all around.

Medium shot this shot shows a robot alien from the waste up moving across a road.

Handheld shot, close up shot, zoom shot, in this scene we can see that the camera is a bit shaky showing that it has been filmed using a handheld it was filmed from the shoulders upward showing it was a close up it then zoomed in on the face to show his emotions.

Tracking shot this shows how someone has kept at a constant distance but is still filming a moving helicopter it also follows a couple of soldiers running toward a robot .

Arc shot to show the soldiers and the robot at the same time it circles them both capturing the action between them.

Swish pan shows the soldiers shooting then the robot getting hit by the bullets.

Zoom shot, hand held shot he zooms in on the aliens face but as they want the footage too look like its been taken secretly they have made him film with a hand held.  

handheld, tracking,match shot, in this the handheld is shaky it also uses the tracking shot to track dry looking landscape of south africa also there is a few shots where theres a police man going to raid but then theres an interview with a police officer that flows straight in.

Camera angles and shots

Establishing shot: Sets up or 'establishes the setting of a scene it is typically at the beginning of a movie or scene.

Close up: Tightly frames frames a person or object to show detail or emotion.

Medium shot: shot from the waist or knees up from a medium distance generally shows body language and less specific detail.

Long shot: shows the entire figure or object often in its relation to its surroundings typically filmed far away from the object.

Tracking shot: Follows the action at a constant distance it keeps the subject on screen at all times.

Aerial shot: shows the entire image from a high position  sometimes referred as a birds eye view shot.

Dolly shot: The camera is placed on a dolly and moves at a constant rate. It does not necessarily follow the action.

Handheld shot: Filmed from the camera mans own hands therefore, it is a little shaky can be used to show the subjects perspective or feeling.

Zoom shot: either zooms in to isolate the subject or zoom out to show it in a wider context.

Swish pan: moves the camera from one subject to another very quickly.

High angle: The camera is located above the subject and films down on to it sometimes showed to show which characters more powerful.

Reverse angle: Switches between the two or more subjects in a dialogue scene shot from the other side of a subject.

Low angle: Typically shot from the knees up can also show the power of a character in a conversation.

Arc shot: Camera moves around the object in a circular motion in an order to show the image from more angles.

Match out: Two shots that have some relationship are joined together as though in the same scene.

point of view shot: The camera shows the scene from the characters perspective you see through the characters eyes.

Head on shot: When the action comes straight to the camera.

I noticed that in the Sarah Jane script they included the camera angles "EXT. ASYLUM -- DAY 1
FX SHOT: DMP - Establishing shot. A big old house with large overgrown grounds surrounded by high fencing." they put the establishing shot in because its the start of the programme the FX SHOT also shows how they would need to film it then add additional special effect after. This means that i will have to include the camera angles in my script when i do my short movie by including them i think that it will make the actual camera work alot faster it will also help me see if the camera angles that I'm going to use suit the mood and atmosphere of the scene. It would also give the actors in my movie an idea of where to position them selves.

Does social networking break down or develop communities.

Purpose
The purpose of our question is to try and uncover the answer to wether or not social networking is helping build or break down society our aim is to show young people how social networking isn't always a benefit.

Our target audience

Our target audience will be people around about our age so we can get an insight on the younger peoples views and see how they are effected by these issues also it will be easy as we are in a school to gather people for our interviews. We also want to raise awareness among other children of our age.

Proposal

We as a group came up with a few ideas?.

• Does social networking effect our social skills?.
• Do social networks make it easy for cyber bullies?.
• Should social networks allow people to join with out varified age?.
• Does social networking break down or develop communities?. 

we decided on  Does social networking break down or develop communities? because we thought that it would raise a few issues that people are interested in not only that but we thought we could be a bit different and maybe do an interactive documentary.

PROS

• Would easily research the arab spring easily.
• Would easily research the London riots.
• Gives us the chance to do an interactive documentary.
• Facebook, Twitter, BBM and lots of other social networks directly link to our topic.
• Would be easy to get interviews with people who use Facebook almost everyone has one.
• Would create alot of publicity as they are both hot subjects.

CONS

• Might be hard to get permission to use video clips off other websites.
• Would be hard to interview people who were possibly involved in the London riots because people could lie.
• Some people might not know what the arab spring is so we would have to use time quickly explaining.
• We are going to make a twitter account to record some results this will really backup some of our ideas.

I have just watched a short clip of merlin then compared it to a script of the same thing i have seen how they have included if the scene is inside, out side day or night where the scene is Eg: Auther's chamber this has made me change how i would have originally set out my script i would give short precise explanations to my scenes including only the important things.

My Progress

 in Mr.Pyle lessons I have done my treatment which is a three paragraph rough outline of my short movie.
i have also practiced my research skills by finding out information about Al Capone by looking at websites, reading books and checking movie review sites.
I then applied those skills that i learned from the lesson to research the horror genre which is what my short movie will be about I watched Sweeney Todd which was recommended by Mr.Pyle to help me see what elements i would need to include in my own short movie.
